Emotional Intelligence in the Job Search

When we think of emotional intelligence, we usually equate it to the work environment. At work, we need to understand ourselves as well as others. And we need to interact with others demonstrating these two factors. Failing to do this can result in being seen as a difficult employee, or worse; we could be let go. What about the job search, though? Isn’t it important to show emotional intelligence while looking for work? Of course, it is. But how do we do this? In this webinar we’ll look at the five elements of emotional intelligence and talk about how job seekers succeed in them and struggle with them. The five elements are:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Self-Regulation
  • Motivation
  • Empathy
  • Social Skills

You can start before the webinar begins by looking at your self-awareness. In fact, this is your homework: describe how you succeed in demonstrating self-awareness and how you struggle with self-awareness.

This webinar is open to all. If you are a member of a Career Center in Massachusetts, please use your membership ID when registering.
