Today’s résumé is different than the one you wrote 10 years ago. There’s more emphasis on showing the value you bring to employers through:
- A Headline that states your occupation and areas of expertise. It gives employers an idea of what you do and how well you perform in your position.
- A succinct Performance Profile/Summary that contains accomplishments within it. This part of your résumé should entice the reader to read on.
- An Experience section that contains accomplishment statements with quantified results. Think #s, $s, %s.
Your résumé must brand, sell, and position yourself for each job. A generic résumé is not an option these days. Tailor your résumé. Finally, make sure your résumé passes the applicant tracking system. Don’t know what this is? Come to our workshop to find out.
You will leave Résumé Advanced knowing what a professional résumé is.
