DISPATCHER
Receives all oral communications from the public and law enforcement personnel coming in the Police Station and transmits those requests for services to the appropriate location, on a call priority basis. The dispatcher has the primary responsibility for the initial deployment of law enforcement personnel and equipment, along with coordination of other emergency response personnel when necessary. Cooperates with all police officers and other dispatchers assigned to the Communications Center during his/her tour of duty. When designated by a supervisor, assists with the training of inexperienced personnel. Records all pertinent information such as time, locations and nature of incident, and action taken as required by current departmental procedures.
CAREER ADVISOR
Provide core, intensive, training, and case management services to a diverse population of Career Center customers. Provide intake, assessment, individual counseling, and job placement assistance. Recruit per eligibility requirements for potential training grants. Conduct follow up and track each customer as they progress through to job placement. Complete extensive documentation in our database detailing the customer’s career plan and goals.
COMPUTER WORKSHOP / INSTRUCTOR
Provide instruction to students in the Skills/Training Program. Enrolls students in various courses, tracks progress, and administers exams. Additional duties include but are not limited to Work readiness facilitation, monitoring progress of students, travel to various work skills training sites, disbursement, maintenance, and tracking of equipment, as well as working with students one on one throughout course.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT- YOUNG ADULTS
Provides greeting and oversight to any and all persons incoming to the Young Adult Career Center. Manages appointments and data entry in a timely fashion. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment assisting young adults and adults with any and all of their / job search/job placement/educational needs.
PUBLIC HEALTH SCHOOL NURSE
(2 Vacanies) Responsible for developing, implementing and managing a school health program for a school population as defined by the school district.
HEAD FILTER OPERATOR
Responsible for the operation, lubrication and maintenance of electric water pumps in various locations of the Water Filtration Division; assists in the operation of the filtration plant including the examination, inspections, repair, operation and maintenance of filters, connections, gates, valves, recorders, indicators, etc; plans, assigns and supervises the work of filter operators, pump station operators, etc, and evaluates their work performance periodically; compiles records and analyzes data from laboratory work; provides copies to regulatory agencies required by law; makes routine control tests such as chlorine residuals, pH levels, turbidity, color, fluoride tests etc; keeps an inventory of chemicals and requisitions for supplies and materials as needed; reads, interprets, records and replaces charts as required; schedules employees for work shifts; records absences, overtime and vacation time.
