Assists school physicians in medical examinations of school children; interprets findings to parents and teachers and assists in securing correction of defects. Health Education and counseling; Providing skilled nursing to medically fragile students; Detects health problems through inspections, observation, interviews, and analysis of records; instructs others in recognizing and reporting deviations from normal growth development. Interprets public health policies, programs, services and regulations. Participates in field instruction of student nurses; attends in-service training institutes and conferences. Assists physicians in child health examinations and immunizations; interprets findings; arranges for necessary referrals; instructs in child hygiene, feeding and sanitation. Assists in mass immunization programs and in continuing programs for the control of communicable diseases through isolation, quarantine and immunization. Obtains case histories; assists in medical examinations; administers tests and prescribed
medications.

Supervises and works with electrical employees engaged in construction, maintenance and repair of electric power, municipal traffic and fire alarm maintenance systems and lighting.

Assignment to Technical Services to process materials. Assignment to circulation desks, public desks, and performance of all circulation-related tasks in library and/or bookmobile. Shelving of all library materials.

Develops and implements urban design criteria and open space planning concepts in conformance with the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan. Attends meetings and works with City Boards, businesses and neighborhood groups to encourage input in developing urban design criteria and open space plans. Manages programs and projects; responsible for seeking and managing grant opportunities which apply to projects or programs that address urban design, open space and recreational opportunities within the City.

Under direction of Head Mechanic assists in supervision and participates in the overall maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant and its related support functions.
