PUBLIC HEALTH SCHOOL NURSE
(2 Vacanies) Responsible for developing, implementing and managing a school health program for a school population as defined by the school district.
MAINTENANCE PERSON - DPW
Maintains municipal highways, roads and sidewalks, and rights-of-way in safe condition.
CUSTODIAN PART TIME
Custodian is responsible for the daily upkeep of the Health Department.
HEAD FILTER OPERATOR
Responsible for the operation, lubrication and maintenance of electric water pumps in various locations of the Water Filtration Division; assists in the operation of the filtration plant including the examination, inspections, repair, operation and maintenance of filters, connections, gates, valves, recorders, indicators, etc; plans, assigns and supervises the work of filter operators, pump station operators, etc, and evaluates their work performance periodically; compiles records and analyzes data from laboratory work; provides copies to regulatory agencies required by law; makes routine control tests such as chlorine residuals, pH levels, turbidity, color, fluoride tests etc; keeps an inventory of chemicals and requisitions for supplies and materials as needed; reads, interprets, records and replaces charts as required; schedules employees for work shifts; records absences, overtime and vacation time.
TEMPORARY SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPER
Maintains grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property.
DIRECTOR OF PLANT SERVICES
The Director of Plant Services is the hands-on facility manager responsible for managing efficient maintenance and operation of all building systems. As part of a team, the position, under the general supervision of the DPW Commissioner, oversees the daily operations and management of the City of Lowell’s buildings and schools. Responsibilities will include planning, organizing, directing and controlling all physical plant functions, energy conservation measures, facility scheduling, post construction issues, and maintenance.
The Director of Plant Services also oversees all HVAC, lighting, plumbing (including neutralization systems), elevator service and security systems, landscape operations, engineering, skilled trades, vendor services and contracts, along with management and development of maintenance staff and custodial staff and other facility-related systems. The position is thirty-five (35) hours a week and through the completion of the LHS renovation project, the daily hours may be flexible whereas the individual may attend meetings outside the typical workday. WATER UTILITY SKILLED MECHANIC
Under direction of Head Mechanic, assists in supervision and participates in the overall maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant and its related support functions.
