VISION HEARING SCREENER

Deadline: July 27, 2026
To determine, through evaluation and assessment, children with vision and hearing problems as determined by standards and criteria established by the Mass Department of Public Health. Performs initial vision and hearing screenings. May be asked to assist school nurses with parent notification forms. Arranges schedule of testing under the direction of the School Health Coordinator. Refers all questions about a student’s vision and hearing condition to the School Nurse. Maintains confidentiality and does not discuss or share information about students vision or hearing status with other school staff or people outside school unless directed by a School Nurse to do so. May be required to re-test students who fail initial testing. Provides School Nurses with a list of all students screened with their respective test results. Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships; Must be dependable and reliable and respect as well as protect the confidentiality of students, clients, staff and families. Will also assist with testing in Clinic area and as requested by the Nurse Coordinator.

WASTEWATER OPERATOR 1

Under direct supervision; operates, maintains and repairs sewage treatment machinery and equipment. Makes routine laboratory tests and sewage at various stages of treatment in accordance with standardized procedures and adds treatment materials as required. Takes and records readings of instruments, makes adjustments in equipment as indicated, and maintains operations log. Checks machinery and equipment for malfunctions; repairs and overhauls machinery and equipment. Responsible for maintaining the treatment plant in a clean and orderly condition. May supervise personnel at a lower grade. MIS DIRECTOR OPERATIONS

This position will serve as the MIS Director in charge of Operations within MIS. Under the general direction of the CIO or Deputy CIO, the Operations MIS Director will lead the efforts to successfully deliver operational services within the City of Lowell. Operational services include the implementation, integration and maintenance of computer systems (Cloud/Hybrid/On Premise), software, backup, voice and data networks and connectivity to meet the operational, management, and reporting requirements of the City.

DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST (2 Vacancies)

This position will serve as a Desktop Support Specialist (“DSS”) within MIS. Under the general direction of the CIO, Deputy CIO, or other delegate(s) the Desktop Support Specialist will lead the efforts to successfully deliver desktop services throughout the City of Lowell’s various departments. Desktop services include guidance, coordination, follow-up and training on any variety of computing questions/ problems/ malfunctions, of systems/ applications/ hardware/
software, installed or maintained by the City or by 3rd parties. Working as a part of a team, the successful candidate will install/ configure, support/ troubleshoot, hardware and applications, on a variety of desktop/ laptop/ mobile tablets and other devices, as well as server/network applications, and telecommunications systems and devices as necessary.
